Each of our heroes, highlighted here, were nominated by our fans and community members. The Winston-Salem Dash recognized local community heroes. These giveaways were sponsored by Truist and Lowes Foods. The items given away range from seat cushions to baseball hats. These items were given away at the Hanes Team store. The Dash offered a weekly giveaway each Monday. The Dash selected 15 small businesses and delivered lunches with Bolt for their entire staff courtesy of Truist. Lowes Foods, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Truist are partnered with the Dash on this community event. The Winston-Salem Dash provided Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools employees with free Hot Dogs on Thursday, September 17. This event allowed guests the opportunity to roller skate around the concourse. Dash staff and Bolt tossed T-shirts from 4:30pm – 5:30pm Monday, August 17- Friday, August 21.Ĭo-presented Skate Night with Lowes Foods at Truist Stadium on Friday, September 18. The Dash brought the Hanes T-Shirt Toss to FIVE neighborhoods to celebrate the start of school and remote learning! Each T-shirt Included Information from Wake Forest Baptist Health regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Couples had their photo taken and were given a complimentary Dash picture frame. The ceremony was officiated by the team mascot, BOLT, and Dash Vice President of Baseball Operations, Ryan Manuel, who is ordained. The Dash worked with Hanesbrands to produce the cloth mask with the new team logo.Ĭouples celebrated this year by renewing their vows on home plate at Truist Stadium! Couples were allowed up to eight guests, for a 45-minute time slot on Saturday, August 8th. The Winston-Salem Dash held a free face mask giveaway. This Included the opportunity to play catch on the field, hit in the batting tunnel and to run the bases. The Dash hosted an Open House on July 25th. There was a limit of 500 vehicles on each date. The event was FREE to the public.įree Hot Dog Mondays! Attendees received FREE hotdogs at Truist Stadium from 4:30 p.m. The Play Catch on the Field Event included “throwing partners” who signed up for one-hour time slots. All participants received a ticket voucher to a future Dash game! Results and winners per age group were posted on the Dash social media pages. Participants were encouraged to complete their 5K anywhere and at any point during the day while keeping a 6-foot distance between themselves and other runners. The Winston-Salem Dash Socially Distanced 5K was hosted on Saturday, May 2nd and June 6th, 2020. Over 25 characters from Star Wars, Disney movies, Superhero movies and local mascots participated in the event. Vehicles were guided through Truist Stadium’s parking lot parade-style, passing by characters along the tour. This event allowed families to experience a fun activity from the safety of their own vehicle. The Winston-Salem Dash hosted a “Character Cruise-Thru” at Truist Stadium on Saturday, May 30th. Facebook was used to have fans comment what neighborhood should be selected, and the announcement of the contact-free Ice cream delivery from Bolt! I Scream, You Scream, Dash City Screams for Ice Cream! Bolt and the Dash delivered FREE ice cream to 12 Winston-Salem neighborhoods. Make plans now to enjoy their 2021 season with their home game opener set for May 4 th! It certainly did not stop them from being very involved in the community this past year! Below is a sampling of the many events they held. While Covid-19 may have dashed the hopes of a 2020 season for the beloved WS Dash baseball team.
