![]() ![]() And Izanagi / Oyamatsumi is what I came out with between the two floors I farmed on.Press Triangle and Circle when the gauge is full I suspect this may have also occurred since I ended up in the Underworld with the two onmyo mages and this is where I reassessed my gear and started farming for a replacement. saturated enemy, but found my play style gravitated favoring at least 3 pieces of Oyamatsumi for guard ki recovery even at the cost of several Owatatsumi pieces at times. I was mostly 7-piece Izanagi with just enough Owatatsumi for the ki damage vs. So I may place lightning on low stance Fatal Thrust (or high stance, I forget which) to achieve the Confusion effect between my spear's innate element, the elemental familiar I have at the time. And Spear Shove is a bit more defensive, heavy armor, attack back type of style. With the spear, I find that mid stance strong attack, Fatal Thrust, Wild Spear, high stance's Windmill II, and Spear Shove are the main attacks that I can place an Arcana on and consistently apply them on an enemy that's not resistant and without the accumulation effects on gear. And then water for the damage bonus for my weapon attacks. I tend to hover around purity due to fewer enemies being resistant to it. So I'm curious as to why people who go with the other elements do so? The budget sloth means I can get more damage out than of water, and fire / poison is like effective when you're waiting. Originally posted by Morbis:I've tried them all, but I keep going back to lightning. I have a similar setup, over 6000 armor, b agility, a toughness (200 stamina(remodeled Odachi for stamina) I could go lower so I am thinking about what second of third set affixes I want (Ki, and saturate look good) I use a mix with -1 requirement for sets, so I have the first effect of seven items, and I just am sporting life (and toya? clan, the one that gives health based on stamina) I have 9200 health with 15 constitution. * Anima generation on guard from the Brute pairs well with a heavy armor / more guarding-focused playstyle Yeah, I used golden boy on lower levels, very good set. I'm sure I'll re-evaluate once I start looking into Graces. Originally posted by Goilveig:I am all lightning on my current (pre-Ethereal) build. But once you consider build synergy with gear, guardian spirits, and soul cores, I would then rank lightning top, followed by water and then fire. ![]() If I were just evaluating the elements in isolation, water would be my favorite, followed by lightning and then fire. * Anima generation on guard from the Brute pairs well with a heavy armor / more guarding-focused playstyle * Access to Brute counter, which can counter things that Feral and Phantom can't * Guardian Spirit Talisman with Shin-Roku gives access to the Stalwart buff, one of the rarest and most useful buffs to get. * Heavy armor, which is my preference for the middle difficulty levels (where you can easily afford to spend 50 stamina to get B agility / A toughness) * Many bosses can be Shocked, and the debuff lasts at least long enough to get a nice anima boost (meaning you can reuse cores like the Lightning Gods of Yomi pretty quickly, even with its higher anima cost) * Strong anima generation when hitting a Shocked foe Golden Boy is a great set, and it pairs really well with Shin-Roku / Ame-no-Mitori. The main reason is just that there isn't a good armor set bonus that plays well with water damage, which would otherwise be my first choice. I am heavily lightning-focused on my current (pre-Ethereal) build, although I keep some stuff to apply fire/water, too. ![]()
